Slitter Operator - NX15 Shift B in Janesville, Wisconsin at GOEX Corporation

Job Overview

GOEX Corporation is growing and we are seeking a skilled and dependable Slitter Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain the slitting machine to cut and rewind plastic materials to precise customer specifications. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone with mechanical aptitude and a strong attention to quality, safety, and efficiency.
This position follows a consistent 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule - Monday -Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:10am.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and perform basic maintenance on slitting machines
• Space and adjust blades according to product specs on the work order
• Load plastic rolls, thread materials, and monitor slitting process
• Detect and correct irregular cutting or winding during operation
• Perform blade replacement, machine start-up, and shut-down tasks
• Activate unloading system ("tree") for finished goods handling
• Inspect finished rolls for defects and ensure compliance with specs
• Accurately complete job documentation and production records
• Meet or exceed standards for line speed, scrap reduction, and setup time
• Follow clean room gowning procedures and maintain a clean work area
• Perform Autonomous Maintenance tasks and assist with preventative upkeep
• Follow all PPE, GMP, food safety, and safety protocols
• Communicate machine or material issues to supervisor immediately
• Support team goals and assist with cross-departmental cooperation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Good math, written, and verbal communication skills
• Forklift operation experience
• Prior experience in material handling, extrusion, or machine operation
• Organized and reliable with a team-oriented mindset
• Able to comprehend written/verbal instructions and perform basic math

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Stand and walk throughout shift; minimal sitting
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally assist with up to 100 lbs
• Reaching, bending, kneeling, and climbing (up to 20 ft) required
• Firm hand grasping and equipment handling needed
• Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and moving machinery
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
