Description:

The Procurement Manager oversees the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management of construction materials, equipment, consumables and subcontracted services. This role ensures the company receives the best pricing, quality, and delivery performance from suppliers while managing rebate programs, discount structures, and vendor relationships. The Procurement Manager plays a key role in cost control, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and purchase roofing materials, tools, equipment, consumables and subcontracted services.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and distributors.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support project timelines without overstocking.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements or alternatives.
  • Manage all manufacturer and distributor rebate programs to ensure maximum return.
  • Track rebate eligibility, submission deadlines, and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor discount structures, volume-based pricing, and promotional opportunities.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate improved terms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely rebate claims and follow-up on outstanding credits.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with material suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers.
  • Review and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Resolve vendor issues related to pricing, delivery, quality, or invoicing.
  • Maintain an approved vendor list and evaluate new supplier opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing files, and contract documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to forecast material needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to job sites and coordinate logistics as needed.
  • Work with accounting to reconcile invoices, credits, and rebate payments.
  • Implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support estimating teams with up-to-date material pricing for bids.
  • Partner with operations to ensure materials meet project specifications.
  • Work with leadership to develop annual purchasing strategies and budget forecasts.
  • Review supplier invoices for correct pricing per quote.
  • Bundle material orders for multiple jobs to secure better pricing.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Talents:

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in roofing, construction, or building materials.
  • Knowledge of products, manufacturers, and distribution channels.
  • Familiarity with job-costing and project-based purchasing.
  • Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience (construction or roofing preferred).
  • Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.
  • Experience managing rebates, discounts, or incentive programs.
  • Proficiency with purchasing systems, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
