Position Overview
We are seeking an Entry-Level Provider Relations Specialist to support an immediate, short-term operational need within our Provider Relations department.
This role is part of a permanent position with the company. Once the Provider Relations need has been fulfilled, the individual in this role will transition into a permanent Case Coordinator position at the same pay rate.
There is one opening for the Provider Relations Specialist assignment. However, all qualified applicants may also be considered for direct placement into a Case Coordinator role, even if not selected for the Provider Relations assignment.
Temporary Assignment: Provider Relations Specialist
Role Summary
Under the direction of the Provider Relations Leadership Team, the Entry-Level Provider Relations SCA Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with local healthcare providers and securing Single Case Agreements (SCAs) to ensure appropriate network coverage for injured workers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the provider network
- Recruit and negotiate with local facilities to secure Single Case Agreements in a timely manner
- Contact providers to facilitate referral placement
- Develop and maintain provider accounts through consistent outreach
- Understand workers’ compensation fee schedules and provider contracts
- Negotiate referral rates while protecting company margins
- Maintain regular communication with internal teams and referral sources
- Resolve provider issues and disputes efficiently
- Independently identify and engage facilities for network participation
- Adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Provide guidance to providers regarding agreement terms, billing processes, and operational questions
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Permanent Role After Transition: Case Coordinator
Upon completion of the temporary Provider Relations assignment, the employee will transition into the Case Coordinator role, where responsibilities include:
- Reviewing medical documents for accuracy
- Gathering additional documentation from physicians, insurance carriers, and vendors
- Communicating with claimants, providers, and insurance carriers
- Scheduling diagnostic imaging and outpatient therapy services
- Managing claimant demographic and case information
- Communicating via phone, email, fax, and text
- Working within Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and internal systems
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Customer-focused and detail-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Comfort working in a structured, fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Teams, internal systems)
- Healthcare or workers’ compensation experience is a plus, but not required
