Description:

Set-Up Technician

Location: Johnson Creek, WI

Shift: 2nd shift (2:15pm to 10:45pm) Monday through Friday

Responsibilities
  • Perform the machining of coupling nuts, including the setup and operation of automatic screw machines
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Promotes and maintains a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude within and between departments
  • Keeps supervisors aware of pertinent issues, information, etc. warranting supervisors’ knowledge, action and/or resolution
  • Ensures proper, accurate records are maintained, as required, within areas of responsibility
  • Operate and setup automatic screw machines
  • Plan and make multi-tool setups
  • Perform functions in a timely, safe, and cost effective manner
  • Make and grind tools as required
  • Insures first piece inspection is performed
  • Inspect product with proper measuring equipment
  • Sharpen tools with grinder
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and safe
  • Trains and may assist and/or perform work of junior level operators
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles
Requirements: Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent 4 to 6 years experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
  • Possess sound working knowledge of machine shop practices for level of duties performed
  • Able to read and work from prints, etc
  • Able to use micrometers, calipers, precision measuring and inspection tools
  • Analytical, problem solving, training, and follow through skills
