As an Administrative Assistant, a typical day might include:
- Attending and taking notes at insurer meetings
- Developing, maintaining, and updating insurer Market Registry
- Developing Outlook Contacts/Address Book
- Canvasing industry news and updates on Product Lines and Industry Segments to share with the team
- Undertaking benchmarking projects
- Developing and updating registry on industry regulations, taxes, unlicensed placements, etc.
- Developing and updating regulatory disclosures and consents
- Monitoring Lloyds news & compliance updates
- Creating tutorials for various departmental platforms and tools
- Creating system for collecting and filing insurer applications
- Canvasoing Insurance Council updates and practice advisories to share with the team
- Keeping track of markets used by MGAs
- Developing and maintaining process to keep up to date with insurer appetites
- Assisting in various Group Marketing assignments
Administration
- Assisting in organizing team building events
- Pulling insurer reports and update files
- Creating applications for in-house insurance programs
- Compiling audit information
- Drafting department emails
Must Haves:
- At least 2-3 years' experience in a corporate administrative support role
- General Insurance Salesperson Level 1 license through the Insurance Council of British Columbia; equivalent license in province of residence with the ability to obtain a British Columbia license; or commitment to obtain a Level 1 license within 6 months of hire considered an asset
- Post Secondary degree considered asset
- Experience using EPIC broker management system an asset
- Commercial insurance industry experience considered an asset
