Truck Driver at Industrial Management Group LLC – Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Summary (Must have a clean driving record)
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, including flatbeds, tractor-trailers, and refrigerated trailers, to deliver goods to designated locations. This role requires adherence to all safety regulations and company policies while ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products. Approximately 65% of your week will be driving while the other 35% will be assisting in the warehouse/shipping department.

Responsibilities

• Operate and drive different types of trucks, including flatbed, tractor-trailer, refrigerated trailer, tanker, roll-off truck, and dump truck.
• Plan routes and manage schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
• Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues that arise.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety protocols while on the road.

Experience

• Proven experience as a truck driver with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems.
• Experience operating forklifts.
• Knowledge of handling different types of trailers such as flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks is highly desirable.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations related to transportation.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and sit for long periods throughout the day.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed
• Ability to reach with hands and arms
• Capable of communicating with speech and hearing
• Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
