Summary:

We are looking for a full-time Estimating Manager to join our team. They will lead a team of estimators in completing Engineered Wood Product bids for the commercial construction segment. They are expected to have strong organization and communication skills. In addition, they will work together with the technical sales team in tailoring the bid scope to the customers’ needs. Most of all, they will be committed to the RedBuilt “Why” and dedicated to helping the company increase sales.

Essential Functions:

Coordinates with estimating team in the assembly and submission of bidsSupervises and trains estimators in the preparation of estimates and bidsPrepares weekly schedules and assignment of bids to balance workload and meet deadlinesGuides estimating team to develop competitive pricing and scope tailored to each opportunityEnsures relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadlineHas the ability to manage and track multiple preconstruction projects at onceCollaborates with the sales team in understanding customer preferences and opportunitiesCollaborates with Project Managers to ensure a complete project hand-off is achievedEstablishes and monitors KPIs for estimating accuracy, throughput, responsiveness, and project qualityIdentifies process gaps and leads initiatives to improve speed, accuracy, and consistencyDrives adoption of new tools, technologies, and estimating methodologiesCommunicates workload forecasts, staffing needs, and process updates to leadershipCultivates a work culture of operational excellence and continuous improvementReviews estimates for completeness, accuracy, and risk prior to bid submissionPartners with leadership to align estimating strategies with financial and strategic goalsPerform other related duties as assigned
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):

5+ years’ experience as an estimator in the construction field, or equivalent experience in building products sales, construction management, or project managementBachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferredExtensive knowledge of construction estimating methodologies and standardsASPE/CPE certification preferredAbility to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract terms with a high degree of accuracySkilled in performing quantity take‑offs and estimating material costs necessary for contract executionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholdersExceptional time management, multitasking, coaching, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated experience managing people, processes, and interdepartmental dynamicsSound judgment and decision‑making skills under tight deadlines and competing prioritiesExperience using estimating software preferred (i.e. Blubeam takeoff tools, Prebuilt ML)Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
