Summary
The function of CNC Operator-Ennis is to manufacture quality finished products in accordance with the instructions of the work order, drawing, and applicable specifications. They report to the Manager-Operations-Ennis/Supervisor-Machine Shop-Ennis and exercise authority over no other employee.
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Report to the Supervisor-Machine Shop to be assigned to a workstation and receive written work instructions.
- Adhere to company safety, environmental, quality and personnel policies.
- Perform and document any necessary machine maintenance prior to running equipment.
- Verify that the material on the Work Order has been signed off on by management prior to machining, to ensure that correct material is being used.
- Do not leave machine while in operating cycle.
- Document all pertinent machine information before switching programs.
- Keep all documentation in a clean and legible condition.
- Ensure that a "First Article Inspection" is completed by Thread Inspector before full production begins.
- Have all program changes approved by the Operations Manager and ensure that a First Article Inspection is documented by a Thread Inspector before proceeding.
- Report immediately any CNC malfunction to the Operations Manager.
- Proceed with care when removing work piece from machine to avoid damage to new connections.
- Remove from service any inspection equipment found to be defective or out of calibration.
- Ensure that any inspection equipment not in use is stored in its proper location.
- Monitor the handling of tubing and accessories, to ensure compliance with applicable procedures.
- Pay attention to the work in process for any issues that may negatively affect the quality of the finished product.
- Report any questionable machined dimension, or problems with material, to the CNC Lead, Machine Shop Supervisor, Operations Manager, or the Quality Department.
- Not earlier than 20 minutes before shift ends, clean and wipe down the machine. Remove shavings from the pan and put shavings into the shaving bin. Sweep and organize work area.
- Sign off on Work Order, Router form, and any other documentation as required by Benoit SOP.
- Ensure that the company's products conform to all applicable requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Machine Shop Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:
• 1+ years on machining required; CNC machining preferred
• General knowledge of machining equipment and precision measuring equipment
• Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and work instructions
• Ability to verify part dimensions and document required checks
• Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future
Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to:
• Effective verbal and written communication in English
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions in English
• Sufficient visual acuity to perform job duties safely and accurately
• Ability to work in office, warehouse, production, or outdoor environments as required
• Lift, move, adjust, push, pull, and carry objects to waist height up to 60 lbs without assistance when performing changeovers
• Lift, carry, move, push, pull, and adjust objects from waist to shoulder height up to 30 lbs without assistance
• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Occasional bending, reaching, and use of stairs
• Operation of CNC machinery
• Use of hand tools and measuring devices
• Exposure to noise, temperature variations, and shop environment
$3 shift differential for working the night shift
