About This Position

Job Summary: The Credit Analyst will be responsible for conducting thorough analysis of applications for commercial credit and provide an analyzed, researched, and documented package for loan administration or loan committee review. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with limited supervision, and will bring experience from a formal credit training program.


Responsibilities / Essential Functions:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily:

  • Collaborate with Commercial Lenders to analyze credit information and prepare Loan Approval Reports for loan administration or committee review. Credit types include investment real estate, commercial and industrial, and private banking transactions.
  • Use financial statements and tax returns to analyze company level and global cash flow for Borrowers, as well as analyze Borrowers’ balance sheet and income statement activity.
  • Perform collateral analysis on a wide range of credit types.
  • Identify risk in proposed and existing loan transactions and address how to mitigate it.
  • Assist with preparing annual loan reviews and ongoing credit monitoring to ensure Borrower are in compliance with their Loan Agreement and that the credits are appropriately risk rated. Consult customers, prior banks, accountants, and others regarding customers’ credit information.
  • Prepare financial statement spreadsheets.
  • Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:




Knowledge / Skill / Ability

  • 2+ years experience supporting a Credit Risk Manager in a similar role
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of accounting and credit principles, lending functions, and loan analysis and ability to demonstrate resourcefulness in application of general credit policies
  • Broad knowledge of community banking, accounting, finance, compliance & IT
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise consistent discretion and judgement
  • Extensive knowledge of loan documentation, loan policy and regulations
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Loan Grading process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and flexibility skills
  • Extensive analytical skills regarding loan/credit review
  • Significant exposure to sales environment
  • Advanced PC, database and spreadsheet software skills

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer; Able to travel, on an as needed basis (travel minimal and within the Bank’s footprint)
