Full-Time Public Safety Patrol Officer - 2nd and 3rd shift

Job Description

Position Overview: The primary duties of this position are to ensure the safety and security of WCD property, personnel, and guests by maintaining order on the WCD campus and its three facilities. This position is responsible for performing campus patrols on foot or in a vehicle, control access to facilities, report unusual or suspicious conditions, and alert supervisory staff of any health and safety concerns including but not limited to fire code violations, maintenance requests, unsafe working conditions, or tripping hazards. Patrol staff will also serve a customer service role to aid with directions and information to both WCD personnel and visitors.

This position will work two of three shifts with hours based on 2nd shift – 3pm – 11pm or 3rd shift 11pm – 7am. This position will also work a non-conventional workweek and will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

Secures premises by continuous foot patrol, patrolling property, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access pointsMonitors loading dock activity to ensure the security of the facility, preventing unauthorized accessGreet, direct, and assist guests, clients, and employees at the facility or attending an event Provide and control access to facility, show rooms, and meeting roomsMonitors and directs vehicle and pedestrian traffic at loading docksPatrol all assigned interior and exterior areas of the facility including, but not limited to: public access areas, meeting spaces, stairwells, truck ramps, loading docks, parking garages, exterior staircases, rooftop, and public walks ways Work to reduce or eliminate hazards by proactively alerting the appropriate party of any problems Assists in monitoring closed circuit surveillance system and access controlConduct interior room checks unless occupied by an eventClose all fire doors that are propped open. Report to dispatch findings and completion of dutiesSecures the facility at night and opens in the morning as directedRespond as necessary to any dispatch by a public safety supervisor De-escalation of confrontational situation with wanted/unwanted guestsMedical, injury, forced door open, security or safety incidentsAdministers First Aid and/or CPR when requiredOperate hand-held radio and computersAssist in gathering information for investigations on complaints and incidents Complete daily reportsComplete three interior and three exterior tours per shiftEnforce WCD and PSD Policies and proceduresAttend work on time as scheduled and adheres to attendance and uniform policyOther responsibilities and duties as assigned by management, to ensure the effective utilization of the company’s resources and to ensure customer satisfaction

Education & Experience:

RequiredHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Valid CPR, First Aid and AED certification is required within three months of employmentPreferredMinimum 2 years' experience in the Public Safety field, preferably in entertainmentMust be proficient in MS Office (Excel, PP, Word, Access), and MS OutlookDirect experience with automated fire/safety systems, automated camera systems and basic computer proficiency is preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is walking for the majority of shift.The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers and talk. From time to time the employee may be required to work long hours, with shifts that are beyond 8 hours in length. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear to be able to listen to a phone and radio in the course of performing the job duties While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, events such as concerts and sporting contests will result in an elevated noise level
