Plant Manager

Job Summary

The Plant Manager provides leadership and direction to the plant in all areas of operations including the people, production, quality, safety, and maintenance. The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations,execution of the site-specific strategic plan, and overall leadership of the facility.This position requires a strong background in manufacturing, people management, mechanical operations, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee weekly labor and production schedules.
  • Work alongside and support the Environmental Health and Safety team.
  • Day-to-day management of employees including interviewing and selection, onboarding, training, coaching, safety programs, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and terminations (10-15 employees).
  • Maintain corporate systems to manage the plants raw materials, components, and inventory.
  • Manage and direct the production, maintenance, shipping / receiving and administrative functions required at the plant.
  • Oversee all injury, near-miss and property damage investigations.
  • Successfully work with all corporate functions to ensure operational success.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelors degree in operations management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive operations management experience.
  • Related manufacturing industry experience required (rotational molding preferred).
  • Experience hiring, training, managing, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing a plant-wide safety program is required.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, operation, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and perpetual inventories preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
