Job Description
Job Summary
This is an in-person position located in Buffalo, NY. The Human Resources Manager position will be responsible for aligning the HR initiatives with business needs for a unionized manufacturing plant in Buffalo, NY. Provides support, counsel, and training to ensure on-going objectives are met. You will provide expert guidance and training on employee and labor relations with managers and employees. Your role will include overseeing all HR activities including performance enhancement, benefits administration, leading investigations, handling employee disciplinary matters, and ensuring adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
Minimum Education and Qualifications
- High School graduation/equivalent required
- BS/BA degree in Human Resources, business administration or related field required
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience. 5 years in a HR leadership role
- Minimum of 3 years of administering HR services for a unionized workplace
- Experience in manufacturing preferred

- Analytical/Ability to leverage data to generate meaningful business insights for leaders
- Maintain confidentiality and use discretion as needed
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws, rules and regulations pertaining to labor, benefits, and compensation
- Organized, detailed and results oriented
- Proficient in HRIS systems (preferably ADP), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements
This role is primarily sedentary in nature. Sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computing equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and to hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
