About the Role:
The Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our corporate office. This position ensures that all assigned surrounding areas are clean, orderly, and well-maintained to provide a welcoming environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. The janitor is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including waste removal, floor care, restroom sanitation, and minor landscaping duties. Additionally, the role involves adhering to safety protocols and using appropriate equipment to handle materials and perform tasks efficiently.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6pm-8pm
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in commercial buildings.
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy weights regularly.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for operating box trucks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or similar workplace safety training.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and dispose of garbage and recyclable materials using proper techniques and designated containers.
- Perform routine janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms and common areas.
- Maintain and clean stainless steel surfaces and other building fixtures to ensure a polished and hygienic appearance.
- Utilize computer systems to log work orders, report maintenance issues, and track cleaning schedules.
- Conduct basic landscaping tasks to maintain exterior property aesthetics.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Lift and carry heavy objects safely, including furniture and equipment, to facilitate cleaning and maintenance activities.
Skills:
The required skills such as garbage collection techniques and janitorial duties are applied daily to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in commercial buildings. Computer skills are utilized to document completed tasks, communicate with supervisors, and manage schedules through digital platforms.
