Location: Fort Worth, TX

Summary:

Vighter is recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager or Lead RN to join our team and provide exceptional support at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Fort Worth, TX.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the clinical, operational, and administrative oversight of assigned nursing units, programs, or clinic operations.

This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and contractual requirements.

The Nurse Manager provides leadership to nursing staff, manages resources, and drives performance outcomes related to patient care, safety, efficiency, and workforce engagement.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Oversee all aspect, operations and all services rendered at the BEPHU.
  • Leads teams of occupational health professionals, including RNs and CMAs, providing occupational health support and care to an established workforce.
  • Assist the medical director with monitoring any Local, State, or Federal Pandemic mailbox and inform the medical director of all urgent matters.
  • The lead nurse shall be experienced in management, supervising, and guidance to the treatment nurses.
  • The lead nurse shall be able to maintain data and prepare reports daily, weekly, monthly and annually.
  • Must be certified as a Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC), retraining every 5 years. This certification allows the lead nurse to review audiograms, determine work relatedness of hearing loss, work-related hearing loss and manage audiometric databases.
  • Provide all other services normally offered under an Occupational Health Medical Office Services to include audiometry, spirometry screenings, immunizations, and worker’s compensation follow up.
  • Must take National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Spirometry training program (16 hours every 5 years). This training allows the lead nurse to review and interpret spirometry tests (Pulmonary Function Test).
  • Must take CPR/AED training every 2 years and respond to emergencies as first responders.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse Training (Required for Lead Nurse) Recertification is required every 5 years. CEU’s are earned instead of hours. This course is offered to registered nurses with a bachelor’s degree or higher. The focus of the COHNS certification examination is on the roles of management education consultation and case management, in addition to direct care.
  • Act as the nurse case manager for worker’s compensation cases.

  • Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is a requirement. MSN is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two (3) years of experience in acute or occupational health
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse Training (Required for Lead Nurse) Recertification Excellent problem-solving skills with a willingness to adapt and innovate as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the job requirements, including ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling and prioritization skills.

Duty Hours / On-call Requirements

  • The expected duty hours for this position are 8 hours per day and 5 days per week.

Work Environment

  • Location: Fort Worth, TX
  • Supportive team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff.

Travel:

  • As required to satisfy the contractual obligations. Commuting is non-compensatory. All official travel is government funded.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for more than 8 hours per day.
  • Must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
  • Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. and carry up to 10 feet.
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders.
  • Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation.
  • Must undergo Urine Drug Screening (UDS).
  • Must be a Citizen of the United States or legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
