Description
Position Summary
The Therapist ensures the implementation of effective individual, family, and/or group therapy, and provides training, collaboration and supports to other treatment team members. The candidate will have the opportunity to provide therapy services by way of Telehealth, office based therapy, and school based therapy. The position offers flexible hours and a competitive part-time hourly rate. We also provide training and supervision to help you develop your skills as a clinician.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide individual and family therapy in a culturally sensitive manner with adherence to professional Code of Ethics, as recommended by treatment team. Productivity is determined by Program Director; supervisor monitors caseload size to target desired productivity expectations. Number of sessions depends on need and program procedures; intervention or treatment styles practiced are empirically supported in treatment research literature and/or Therapist has had thorough training and supervision of those techniques/interventions.
- Assess for the appropriate level of clinical care and refer as necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations of all clients during the initial treatment phase and include the child/family or adult as active members and participants in treatment planning and implementation. Promote collaboration within the treatment team.
- Facilitate or assist in facilitating groups as per program needs.
- Participate in individual and group supervision as indicated by credentials and clinical experience; participate in regularly scheduled department staff meetings and other meetings as deemed necessary by the program needs.
- Know and comply with all state Mental Health regulations regarding mandated reporting of child maltreatment, elder maltreatment, duty to warn/protect, confidentiality, treatment of minors, student rights and Health Information Privacy and Portability Act (HIPAA).
- Keep Program Supervisor up to date with all scheduling issues. Keep master schedule up to date.
- Plan for discharge from services with client/consumer, refer for follow-up care as needed
- Provide documentation that is in compliance with program procedures, State, licensing, and Medicaid regulations, including but not limited to treatment plans, case notes, assessments, summaries, etc. Sign off on various documentation per program procedures and licensing regulations; Ensure clinical/financial paperwork is timely and accurate to secure treatment services for the client.
- Complete written work that is legible, accurate and uses professional language, meets timelines for submitting paperwork established by the program and organization, uses written documentation to communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors and collateral contacts.
Qualifications
1. Education/Credentials/Licensure:
- Requires a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology Social Work or related human services degree.
- Licensure preferred or working toward licensure by professional affiliation (in the state of program location).
- Requires a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
2. Experience:
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year working with children and/or adults and families.
- Requires expertise in developmental and emotional needs of children and/or adults and families.
- Requires knowledge of community resources and referral procedures.
3. Clearances Required by Applicable Regulations:
- State Police; FBI clearance; child abuse clearance; CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training.

- Working Hours. Part time/non-traditional hours as determined by the program. Some programs require evening hours and occasional weekends.
