About the Accounts Payable Specialist Role: As a key contributor to the finance team, this role plays a vital part in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making. You’ll be responsible for preparing preliminary financial reports, analyzing data trends, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure the integrity of financial records. Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
- Process vendor invoices and enter transactions into company ERP software
- Pay vendor invoices within vendor terms
- Reconcile open accounts payable (AP) transactions with general ledger accounts
- Respond to vendor account inquiries
- Maintain vendor records
- Responsible for 1099 processing
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash box
- Responsible for the accounting filing system
- Maintain use tax documentation
- Support various elements of the month end close and reporting processes
- Contribute to team effort by actively participating in team meetings
Additional Responsibilities:
- Serve as a back-up for Accounts Receivable duties.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: This role requires regular verbal and written communication, as well as physical activity, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and walking. Occasionally, the employee may lift up to 50 pounds and must possess various vision abilities like close and peripheral vision. The work environment primarily consists of indoor settings with proper lighting, ventilation, and temperature control, though occasional exposure to outdoor elements and high noise levels may occur.
