SALES CLERK in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at Forrest General Hospital

Job Summary:

The Sales Clerk is responsible for but not limited to, daily operations of the gift shop, opening and preparing store to receive customers for the day, assist customers in gift choices, making selections, and purchasing items. Prepare deposits and ensure accuracy. Stock shelves, racks, bins, cases, etc. with merchandise. Assist in other areas of store as assigned. This position reports directly to the retail manager. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Reports directly to the Retail Manager.

• Consistently communicates in a friendly, courteous and compassionate manner in all interactions with patients, families, visitors, and employees while achieving exceptional sustained quality patient care, satisfaction, and loyalty
• Works and collaborates effectively with peers, other departments and outside vendors in obtaining information and achieving departmental goals.
• Demonstrates ability to assist customers with their purchases thru exceptional salesmanship.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate, plan and organize tasks associated with the gift shop merchandise as necessary to meet sales goals and sales promotions.
• Adheres to budgetary constraints while producing revenue for the gift shop.
• Ensures that all merchandise is priced according to gift shop standards. (Keystone + )
• Ensures that all displays are current and changed frequently.
• Ensures that the gift shop is clean, music is playing, and inviting to customers.
• Promotes products and sales of the Gift Shop to show successful retail return for the hospital.
• Demonstrates willingness to assist as needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Work Experience:

Retail sales experience preferred; experience dealing with the public required.

Mental Demands:

Position requires accuracy and attention to detail.
