The successful candidate will ensure all fibercrete application activities meet stringent QA/QC and engineering standards. This role is essential to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality ground support while maintaining the pace of high speed underground Jumbo development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and ensure compliance with all mine site safety rules, procedures, and regulations, promoting a culture of zero harm.
  • Supervise all aspects of fibercrete application, including setup, spraying, and finishing to meet geotechnical and QA/QC requirements.
  • Manage batching operations, ensuring precise fiber dosing, water-cement ratios, admixture levels, and timely delivery.
  • Perform and document QA/QC testing including slump, thickness checks, test panels, early strength testing, and core sampling.
  • Ensure all spraying equipment is properly maintained and functioning safely—including sprayers, nozzles, pumps, and mobile mixers.
  • Coordinate shotcrete activities with jumbo and development crews to ensure progress aligns with ground support requirements.
  • Identify and address any non-conformances, and implement continuous improvement based on QA data and field performance.
  • Train and mentor underground crew members on best practices for shotcrete application.
  • Monitor material inventory levels and maintain consistent availability of critical inputs (cement, fibers, admixtures).
  • Maintain accurate records of fibercrete usage, QA/QC results, and maintenance.
  • Interface with client geotechnical and QA teams to ensure alignment with standards and expectations.
  • Support general underground operations as needed to contribute to team success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of underground mining experience, with at least 3 years in a shotcrete supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanized fibercrete application in fast-paced development mining.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC practices and the ability to interpret ground support plans and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining shotcrete equipment (Normet).
  • Experience with mobile mixer operations and underground batch plant systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational and quality issues efficiently.
  • Valid driver’s license required; manual transmission experience is an asset.
  • Valid MSHA certification (or willingness to obtain prior to hire).

Work Conditions

  • Ability to work a remote site-based rotational schedule, including days and nights (12-hour shifts).
  • Physical capability to perform work in rugged underground environments including lifting, standing, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to underground temperatures, humidity, and noise (hearing protection required).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks regularly.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, paid time off, and comprehensive benefits.
  • Leadership role with opportunities for advancement across our North American operations.
  • High-performance environment with a strong focus on technical quality and safety.
  • Ongoing training and development support to grow your career.
