You will carry out privacy assessments, draft policies and notices, develop training, and advise business teams across the WELL ecosystem, using AI tools to work at scale.

You will join the Advisory team of WELL’s Privacy and AI Office, a central function that supports WELL Health, its clinics, WELLSTAR, HEALWELL, WELL Research, and other WELL businesses. You will be the go-to privacy advisor for a group of WELL businesses, which may include our clinic network, WELLSTAR’s technology companies, HEALWELL, and WELL Research.

What you will be doingPrivacy by Design for Digital Health
  • Partner with product, engineering, clinical, and project teams from the start of new digital health initiatives, such as virtual care, patient apps, EMR integrations, and data platforms.
  • Set privacy requirements for each initiative, including consent, data minimization, de-identification, retention, access controls, and cross-border transfers.
  • Review designs and changes before launch, and confirm that privacy requirements are built in.
  • Privacy Assessments
  • Prepare Privacy Preliminary Assessments (PPAs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and Data Management Plans for new projects, products, vendors, and data-sharing arrangements.
  • Gather information from project teams, identify privacy risks, and recommend practical mitigations.
  • Track privacy actions within projects and programs through to completion.
  • Escalate higher-risk matters to the Chief Privacy Officer.
  • Policies Processes and Notices
  • Draft and update privacy policies, procedures, and guidance for business units and clinics.
  • Draft and maintain public-facing privacy notices and materials so they stay accurate and current.
  • Help build documented privacy processes where they are missing or inconsistent.
  • Legal and Regulatory Advice
  • Research privacy law questions and apply PHIPA, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, Alberta HIA and PIPA, BC PIPA, and other provincial legislation to new work.
  • Monitor guidance from the IPC, OPC, CAI, and other regulators and flag what it means for the business.

  • Act as the first point of contact for your assigned business units.
  • Support vendor and third-party risk assessments with Procurement.
  • Prepare content for AI-powered self-serve support tools used by clinics and business teams.
  • How you will work with AI

We are building an AI-enabled privacy function. You will use AI as a core part of the job, and AI-enabled productivity is part of your objectives.

  • Use generative AI tools to produce first drafts of privacy assessments and policies, then review, complete, and stand behind every output.
  • Use AI to pre-fill vendor questionnaires, compare policies, and summarize regulatory guidance.
  • Build and maintain approved content for self-serve privacy support.
