Title: Repair Technician

Location: Socorro, New Mexico

Schedule: Saturday – Wednesday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour (DOE)

As a Repair Technician, you'll play a vital role in keeping New Mexico’s rest areas safe, functional, and welcoming by:

Performing repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems

Diagnosing and troubleshooting facility and equipment issues

Training rest area staff on proper maintenance procedures

Operating and maintaining equipment (mowers, tractors, man lifts)

Completing carpentry, stucco, concrete, and structural repairs

Maintaining irrigation and water systems, including pumps and septic systems

Ensuring all work meets safety, cleanliness, and contract compliance standards

Your expertise ensures travelers experience safe, reliable, and well-maintained rest areas across the region.

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 5 years' experience in general trades

HVAC, electrical, or electronics experience preferred

Valid Driver’s License

Must pass:

MVR check

General background check

OIG/CMMS Exclusions screening

Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
Proficiency in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and construction trades
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely (vehicles up to 26,000 BVM)
Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and reliable
Bilingual (Spanish) a strong plus!
