Job Description

Justice, love, equity, and inclusion (representation and full participation) are core and foundational values already embedded in the theology, polity, and confessional life of the PC(USA). The four values below are how the PL&W lives out those foundational commitments: Nimble, Trustworthy, Learning, Courageous.
Purpose of Position:
This is an individual contributor role with responsibilities involving increased complexity, scope, and impact that evolves based on the demands of the program. The position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and coordinating programmatic projects within a large program area or stand-alone programs and may manage one or multiple smaller projects.
The role utilizes knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the assigned field to identify issues and potential program risks, analyze and interpret findings, and recommend and/or approve improvements. In collaboration with other departments or functional areas, the position performs complex, non-routine programmatic duties.
This position operates under general supervision and requires a moderate to high degree of judgment, discretion, and independent decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities (list in order of priority): Coordinates people, processes, information, and resources to strengthen collaboration and advance the shared mission of the General Assembly in service through PL&W/PC(USA).
1. Strategic Collaboration & Leadership Support
Partner with the Senior Director to advance the priorities and directives of the General Assembly by fostering collaboration, facilitating communication, and supporting continuity across ministry areas. Serve as a trusted strategic partner by anticipating needs, maintaining awareness of ministry priorities, and strengthening relationships that help teams remain aligned and responsive to emerging opportunities.

Coordinate cross-functional projects that support General Assembly referrals, directives, and strategic initiatives by bringing together the appropriate people, resources, and processes. Facilitate planning, implementation, communication, and progress tracking while helping ministry areas translate shared priorities into coordinated action and measurable outcomes.
3. Organizational Operations & Administrative Coordination
Coordinate shared operational activities, administrative processes, and logistical support that enable ministry areas to carry out the work of the General Assembly efficiently and collaboratively. Develop, document, and help implement consistent workflows; maintain shared operational information, records, and process documentation; and coordinate cross-ministry meeting, travel, purchasing, and event logistics, as applicable, to strengthen continuity, visibility, and organizational effectiveness. Convene and facilitate regular program administrator meetings to centralize information, promote consistent communication and shared understanding across program areas, identify common operational needs, and coordinate follow-up. Coordinate PBP-wide alignment for established grant, finance, purchasing, expense, and related administrative processes, and provide temporary backup support for program-level administration when coverage is needed.
4. Collaborative Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Strengthen communication and alignment across PBP ministry areas by organizing and sharing information, facilitating collaborative planning, and coordinating follow-up. Support ministry areas in their communication with relevant committees and external partners by preparing materials, coordinating information, and facilitating appropriate follow-up, as needed. This coordination enables PBP ministry areas to carry out the directives and priorities of the General Assembly and sustain their externally focused work.
5. Technology, Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to streamline operations, improve communication, reduce duplication, and strengthen organizational effectiveness. Assess and recommend appropriate uses of technology, communication tools, and process improvements; develop practical tools, templates, trackers, and documentation; and support the implementation and adoption of shared systems and workflows. Collaborate with appropriate program, administrative, and functional staff to develop, document, and improve consistent cross-ministry processes and procedures, including those related to grants, finance, purchasing, and other shared operations, in support of General Assembly priorities.
