Quality Control Technician - Weekend Shift in Green Bay, Wisconsin at Griffin Industries LLC
Job Description
Three twelves. $5 an hour more. $2,000 sign-on bonus. Then four days off.
Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. Off Monday through Thursday.
Pay: $25 to $30 per hour, based on experience, plus $1 per hour second-shift differential on 2nd shift. 2nd shift hires receive a $2,000 sign-on bonus, $1,000 at 90 days and $1,000 at 180 days.
The job
Every job at Griffin is a prototype or a short run, so first-piece inspection is most of your week and the parts in front of you change constantly. You run Zeiss CMMs, laser scanning and hand gauges, read the results against the print and tell the machinist what to change. You are the last set of eyes before the part ships. On weekends you are the quality department. You support a small machining crew, make the call on first pieces and leave the weekday team a clean record of what passed and what didn't.
What you'll do
• First-piece, in-process and final inspection on Zeiss CMMs (Calypso)
• Laser scan castings on the Romer arm and compare to the model
• Interpret results and communicate fast with machinists and engineering
• Write and file inspection reports, PPAP and first-article packages
• Hand inspection with calipers, micrometers and thread gauges
• Keep gauges calibrated; support ISO 9001 and the AS9100 build-out
About Griffin Industries
We make stuff that matters. Griffin Industries is a family-owned Green Bay shop that machines prototype and low-volume castings for defense, energy, marine, electric vehicle, construction and agricultural OEMs. Our customers send us a constant stream of new products. Every day is a new day at Griffin, with new challenges and a fast pace.
We started in 1983 as a pattern shop and were one of the first in the country to put CNC on foundry tooling and the first to apply 3D printing to print sand molds. Today we run 18 CNC verticals and horizontals, three Zeiss and Coord3 CMMs, laser scanning, FEA casting simulation and 3D-printed sand cores in a 40,000 square foot climate-controlled building, and we are adding our own foundry next door. We are ISO 9001 certified, ITAR registered and CMMC Level 2 compliant, and we are building toward AS9100 as our aerospace and defense work grows.
Most of our team has been here more than ten years with several members celebrating over 30 years with the company.
A note from the owner
Griffin is the company my family started in 1983. We are now carrying the largest backlog in our history, and the parts on our floor end up in equipment that defends, powers and moves this country. We have built this company with a talented team of like-minded people that like to get things done. If you want an always-changing, fast-paced environment, this is the place for you.
