Job Description

Description:
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance using comprehensive technical expertise.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting, repairing aircraft electrical wiring systems
  • Must have experience with assembly, routing, clamping of electrical cables and wire harnesses to include crimping/ pinning connectors/ ring out/power on checks.
  • Knowledgeable using electrical drawings, schematics, military specifications, and Technical Manuals
  • Troubleshoot to determine malfunctions on avionics components and electrical system components and accessories.
  • Test and inspect aircraft communication components, navigation components, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems and accessories.
  • Complete all checklists, forms and reports as required in accordance with the company, government and FAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge to understand and follow the repair facility’s Inspection Procedures Manual.
  • Assist co-workers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions as necessary.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision/leadership for assigned avionics technicians; assign tasks, coordinate workflow, and ensure priorities are aligned with production schedule.
  • Coach, mentor, and train team members; provide technical guidance and assist with complex troubleshooting as needed.
  • Review work for quality and completeness; verify documentation/checklists are accurate and ensure compliance with company policies, FAA regulations, and the Inspection Procedures Manual.
  • Coordinate with Production and QA/Inspection to resolve issues, communicate status, and elevate risks/constraints impacting schedule, quality, or safety.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • 5+ years of previous helicopter electrical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of UH-60, UH-1, Bell 206/407, TH 47 aircraft preferred
  • Writing and oral communication skills sufficient to prepare reports and to discuss equipment malfunction.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example in a FAA Part 145 environment; coordinate work, set priorities, and support team execution.
  • Ability to mentor and train technicians on wiring practices, schematic interpretation, and proper use of tools/test equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with Production and QA/Inspection, provide status updates, and help ensure work meets quality and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to provide day-to-day supervision (task assignment, work direction, and oversight) while maintaining a positive, accountable, and compliant work environment.
  • Ability to work overtime if required
  • Must purchase or own tools required to perform job duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • FCC Certification preferred
  • A&P Certificate preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attention to detail, and ability to stand and work on top of aircraft, from ladders, and in confined areas for extended periods, both in and out of doors
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently, and to team lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a standard fit for duty physical
