JOB PURPOSE
Assure consistent cleaning of plant and food equipment. Performance of cleaning procedures that comply with stated corporate mission and strategic plan, corporate policies, and customer requirements.
Requirements:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dry cleaning, garbage removal and janitorial activities
- Wet cleaning to include rinsing, soap application, and scrubbing
- Work with soaps / other cleaning chemicals.
- Other duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Onsite role within a food processing/production facility
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including cold environments (35°F or below)
- Exposure to produce-related fumes (e.g., onions, peppers)
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals (e.g., chlorine, soaps)
- Use of personal protective equipment, including rain gear
- Occasional use of sanitation tools and equipment (e.g., foamers, brooms, shovels)
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing
- Frequent use of hands for grasping and basic tasks (e.g., writing)
- Ability to lift and carry items ranging from 5 to 50 pounds regularly
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum High School Education / G.E.D. preferred or applicable certification
- Understanding of Produce Standards, and or basic produce experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Microsoft Office: Excel, Word - basic computer skills
- Working knowledge of English and basic math
- Ability to interact with management
