At Pacific Smoke International, our mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. As the leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada, we've made significant progress since our founding in 2013. However, we have much more to accomplish for our customers, and we're looking for a culturally aligned Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team located in Markham.

Job Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of Art & Design, and supervised by our Sr. Industrial Designer. The Industrial Designer is responsible for the development of production-ready product designs that balance ergonomics, aesthetics, and manufacturability. This role focuses heavily on core industrial design execution, including 3D form development and direct collaboration with engineering and manufacturing partners. Visualization and CMF development are supported by dedicated internal specialists, allowing this role to focus purely on high-quality product architecture and design execution.


Key Responsibilities

CAD & Concept Development: Create, refine, and maintain 3D CAD models to support product development and update design files throughout prototype iterations. Test and refine designs through rapid prototyping and 3D printing workflows.Manufacturing Handoff: Work closely with engineering teams and overseas manufacturing partners to translate product concepts into manufacturable consumer hardware while retaining design intent.Global Collaboration: Communicate effectively with overseas manufacturers in the mornings (or occasionally evenings) as required to ensure technical feasibility and resolve production bottlenecks.Market Intelligence: Conduct occasional market visits and attend trade expos as needed to gain a greater understanding of the competitive landscape and identify hardware trends. Keep up to date with general Industrial Design/CMF trends outside of the vape industry as well.Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Product Management to ensure design solutions align with product strategy, revenue targets, and market requirements.Other related tasks as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Qualifications

Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.2–4 years of industrial design experience, ideally with a track record of being part of a team that has brought a physical product to market.High proficiency in CAD and design software (Fusion 360, Rhino, KeyShot, etc.).Understanding of basic manufacturing processes, materials, and 3D printing workflows.Strong attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional product development environment.Written and spoken Mandarin is a strong asset.Willingness to vape to test products is an asset.
