Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic partner to leadership, responsible for driving people initiatives that strengthen culture, enhance employee engagement, and support organizational performance. This role plays a critical part in building a high-performing, values-driven environment by aligning HR practices with business objectives and fostering a workplace where employees feel supported, accountable, and empowered to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that align with business goals and reinforce Ethos’s values and culture
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, and leadership development
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, action planning, recognition programs, and culture-building efforts
- Coach and develop leaders to strengthen accountability, teamwork, and effective people management
- Oversee full-cycle talent acquisition and onboarding to ensure a strong candidate and new hire experience
- Manage employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolution, with professionalism, consistency, and integrity
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws, including ADAAA, FMLA, EEO, and FLSA
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and performance improvement plans
- Drive training and development initiatives focused on leadership, communication, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Maintain HR metrics and reporting to inform decision-making and improve organizational outcomes
- Support compensation, benefits administration, and payroll processes in coordination with internal and external partners
- Partner on organizational change initiatives, ensuring alignment, communication, and successful adoption
- Proven ability to build and sustain a high-engagement, values-driven culture in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices, with a commitment to accountability and ethical decision-making
- Demonstrated success in coaching and developing leaders across multiple levels of an organization
- Experience managing complex employee relations issues while maintaining a fair and consistent approach
- Ability to design and execute initiatives that improve engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- HR certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multi-site, multi-state environment
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing employee relations matters
- Strong background in organizational development and employee engagement strategies

- Proficiency with HRIS systems and standard business software tools
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform general office functions including sitting, standing, walking, and computer use
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
