About This Position

Overview

At Esri, our solution engineer managers provide leadership to highly skilled technical teams that promote and sell the adoption of Esri technology in partnership with account and sales managers and other internal teams. We invite you to use your coaching and team-building skills, as well as your experience with geospatial technology, to become an integral part of the infrastructure sector management team. We are looking for an individual who can inspire and motivate others and who leads by example. Youll have the opportunity to build the framework in which our solution engineers will chart their career at Esri, and the technology infrastructure required to support business development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Empower your team. Manage the technical activities of your team by working with account and sales managers to strategically lead all technical stages of the sales process. Mentor your team through active coaching, clear direction, and regular feedback. Cultivate a virtual team of solution engineers, strategic partners, and cross-divisional resources to support your teams sales objectives and generate results.
  • Support key engagements. Lead staff to develop, deliver and engage on strategic Esri Events, tradeshows, conferences, and executive engagements that will promote thought leadership in the geospatial industry.
  • Build relationships. Work across the team to support a healthy pipeline of business growth opportunities.
  • Understand our customers. Demonstrate infrastructure (utilities, telecom, rail) industry knowledge and its relevance to the application of GIS. Identify key stakeholders and business drivers for an organization. Understand customer budgeting and acquisition processes.
  • Be an expert. Clearly craft and articulate solutions to the business needs of our customers, highlighting the strengths and value of ArcGIS. Support and encourage your team in their own professional and personal development.
  • Deliver results. Successfully innovate and deliver solutions, demonstrations, presentations, and prototypes to customers, partners, and internal team members to meet the customers needs. Establish time-driven goals for yourself and your team that are attainable, realistic, and have clear indicators.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing and coaching a technical team
  • 8+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
  • Experience in technical sales providing solutions to customers
  • Deep technical understanding of GIS, Esri technology and infrastructure (utilities, telecom, rail) as they relate to one another
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure (utilities, telecom rail), new technology trends, and the ability to translate knowledge into solutions for customers
  • Expert in listening to clients, assessing needs, creating solutions, presenting, and visual storytelling across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 50%
  • Bachelors degree in geography, GIS, business, or a related field

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is$131,040—$228,800 USD
