Position Information


UC Riverside's Auxiliary Facilities Services is recruiting for a Project Manager. The full salary range for the Project Manager is $84,100 - $154,700 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $110,600 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Reporting to the Senior Director of Auxiliary Facilities & Projects, the Project Manager plans, develops, implements, and executes building and improvement projects across approximately five million square feet (5,000,000) encompassing a diverse portfolio of housing, dining, early childhood education, parking, administrative and support facilities. Performs project planning work such as feasibility studies, schedules, priority, cost estimating and analysis. Develops and monitors project charters, critical path tasks, detailed project budgets, and risk registers throughout the course of a project. For projects defined per UC policies and the Facilities Manual as lower in dollar/scope, serves as Project Manager/University Representative responsible for coordinating all phases, from establishment of design concepts through construction, including coordination with professional consultants and General Contractor. Coordinates with UCR Planning, Design & Construction (PD&C) to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with UC Policy and Public Contract Code. For projects with a higher financial threshold or complex scope, serves as Auxiliaries representative/chief liaison to PD&C who manages the implementation of minor and major capital projects for all of campus. Schedules project team meetings and routinely communicates updates. Demonstrates good judgement to ensure project integrity in areas of specifications, end user owner needs, schedule, change orders and established budget. Builds and maintains short (3-5 year) and long (10 year) term planning and priority lists for minor/major maintenance level needs across the portfolio. Coordinates with Auxiliary Services team members on various projects such as space planning, FFE replacement, product specifications, purchases and other. Serves as primary point of contact with vendors; researches options, new products and emerging trends that will benefit the overall facilities program. Routinely meets with and provides reports to the Senior Director of Auxiliary Facilities Services and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Auxiliary Services. Works closely with campus partners in PD&C, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Facilities Services (FS) to ensure required campus, UC and governmental compliance is being met. Coordinates Auxiliaries required reporting to UCOP for items such as seismic work and SB721 Balcony Bill compliance. Serves on Auxiliary Services emergency planning and response team.Required to hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Minimum Requirements
Thorough working knowledge of building and construction, design, construction contract administration and California Building Codes, including full understanding of industry practices.

Thorough organizational and analytical skills including skill to provide high quality control. Detail oriented to accurately proof contracts and other documents.
Thorough written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills including high level political acumen.

Thorough working knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body ofKnowledge (PMBOK).
Thorough working knowledge of commonly used project management software e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, ect.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of the organization, including its infrastructure and short and long range strategic building plans.
Project and/or facilities experience in a large environment with a diverse property portfolio (age, type, size, function)
Demonstrated ability to meet with a variety of stakeholders and synthesize their needs, budget and priority into a project scope to meet established process.
