About the Role:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) plays a critical role in helping individuals of all ages develop, recover, or maintain meaningful daily living and work skills. This position focuses on assessing patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to create personalized therapy plans that promote independence and improve quality of life. The OT collaborates closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs. Through continuous evaluation and adaptation of treatment strategies, the OT ensures progress toward functional goals and overall well-being. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to empowering patients to overcome challenges and achieve their highest potential in everyday activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the United States.
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with pediatric, geriatric, or neurological patient populations.
- Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques such as sensory integration or hand therapy.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation software.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and contribute to holistic patient care plans.
- Continuing education or advanced training in emerging occupational therapy practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address patients’ specific goals and challenges.
- Provide hands-on therapy and guidance to patients to improve their motor skills, coordination, and daily living activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to support patient progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved in patient care.
