We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Controller/Accounting Specialist to support our accounting team with daily accounting operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial data and seamless month-end closing processes with a highly Excel-driven environment. Reconciliations are routine and the position requires a high level of analytical skill. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic manufacturing setting and help strengthen our financial controls. This role will report directly to the Plant Controller.
Requirements:Responsibilities
· Perform daily and monthly accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, accruals, and journal entries.
· Prepare and maintain account reconciliations in Microsoft OneStream for all balance sheet accounts
· Support month-end and year-end close processes.
· Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash application.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and support departmental financial needs.
· Maintain accurate documentation and follow established accounting policies and procedures.
· Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests.
· Track and report all capital projects completed in the facility
· Support the Controller in performing internal and external inquiries and documentation, ad hoc projects.
· Other duties as assigned.
Academic Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
- Familiarity with Plex ERP financial/manufacturing system (or willingness to learn).
- Analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
· Experience in GL account reconciliations with proper documentation
· Manufacturing accounting experience.
