Job Posting Title

Account Manager

What You’ll Do:

We are a specialized P&C insurance and structural warranty agency serving residential homebuilders nationwide, focused exclusively on the complexities of builder risk and structural warranty programs.

We operate using a proprietary Training Resource for Insurance & Warranty Operations, a best-in-class playbook outlining carrier workflows, ACORD standards, compliance requirements, and operational excellence for builder-focused insurance.

This role is ideal for an insurance professional who values structure, precision, accountability, and continuous improvement within a high-performance team.

Core Purpose

Deliver expert service and strategic guidance within the residential homebuilding sector, driving retention, risk optimization, and operational excellence in a defined, high-complexity niche.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client & Builder Relationship Management

· Serve as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of homebuilder and trade contractor accounts.

· Lead renewals, coverage reviews, and policy strategy meetings.

· Support new business opportunities, proposals, and loss run analysis.

· Achieve retention (95% target) and drive revenue growth through cross-sell/up-sell initiatives.

· Coordinate COIs, additional insureds, endorsements, and lender requirements.

2. Strategic Risk Advisory

· Review builder and subcontractor contracts to identify coverage gaps.

· Serve as a subject-matter expert on builder-specific risk structures.

· Conduct annual strategy reviews and provide data-driven risk recommendations.

· Identify emerging construction risk trends.

3. Structural Warranty Program Oversight

· Manage warranty program setup, registrations, and administrator coordination.

· Ensure alignment between warranty and insurance structures.

· Resolve overlapping coverage issues and track warranty KPIs.

4. Service Excellence & Operations

· Meet service SLAs (1-day inquiry response; 24 - 48 hour COIs; carrier-timely endorsements).

· Maintain accurate documentation in the Agency Management System (AMS).

· Deliver proactive communication and high client satisfaction.

· Manage endorsements, audits, remarketing, cancellations, and compliance workflows.

5. Technical Servicing & Analytics

· Prepare and review ACORD and supplemental applications.

· Monitor renewals, expirations, retention, and loss trends using AMS dashboards.

· Support claims coordination and risk mitigation strategies.

· Leverage approved technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and communication.

6. Leadership & Cultural Expectations

· Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal training.

· Lead or refine segments of the agency playbook.

· Demonstrate accountability, composure, collaboration, and ownership of client outcomes.

Performance Metrics

Success is measured by:

· Client retention and revenue growth

· SLA compliance and satisfaction scores

· Accuracy and timeliness of AMS documentation

· Warranty program proficiency and strategic advisory impact

· Contributions to training and operational improvement

Required Qualifications

· 5+ years commercial P&C account management/AE experience (construction preferred).

· Strong knowledge of GL, Builders Risk, Property, Auto, Umbrella, IM, and WC.

· Proficiency with ACORD forms and AMS (Momentum NowCerts preferred).

· Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Structural warranty experience.

· Industry designations (CISR, CIC, CRM, etc.).

· A track record of retention and growth performance.

What Makes This Role Different

Most commercial insurance roles require broad knowledge across unrelated industries. Here, you will go deep.

Because we specialize in residential homebuilding, you’ll develop true expertise in one of the most complex sectors in commercial P&C, mastering builder risk structures, subcontractor risk transfer, structural warranty alignment, and evolving construction exposures.

This depth builds long-term market value. Construction specialization is highly transferable across carriers, brokers, MGAs, and advisory firms.

Combined with our structured Training Resource, you won’t just manage accounts, you’ll develop recognized mastery in a defined niche and help elevate best practices within it.
