Senior Tax Manager

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Tax Manager in Ireland.

This is a senior-level tax leadership role within a global finance organization, responsible for overseeing EMEA tax operations across both direct and indirect taxation. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across tax reporting, provisions, and regulatory obligations. The role combines technical tax expertise with strategic oversight, supporting financial reporting, audit defense, and cross-border tax initiatives. You will also drive process transformation and automation within tax operations, contributing to global standardization efforts. Working closely with finance and tax stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions, you will help shape scalable and efficient tax processes in a fast-paced international environment. This is an opportunity to influence both operational excellence and strategic tax direction within a complex multinational structure.

Accountabilities:
  • Oversee and review EMEA indirect and direct tax compliance activities, including VAT, corporate income tax (CIT), and other statutory tax filings.
  • Prepare and review US GAAP tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations, ASC 450, FIN 48, and related financial reporting deliverables.
  • Support local and group financial close processes with accurate tax accounting inputs.
  • Lead and contribute to tax process transformation initiatives, including automation, standardisation, and potential insourcing opportunities.
  • Collaborate on regional and global tax projects such as Pillar Two implementation, R&D incentives, e-invoicing, and legal entity restructuring.
  • Provide strategic support for tax audits, disputes, and broader controversy management across EMEA jurisdictions.
  • Partner with global tax and finance teams to ensure alignment of processes, controls, and reporting standards.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements in tax operations to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, or related discipline; professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in direct and indirect tax, gained in Big 4 firms and/or multinational corporate environments.
  • At least 2+ years of people management experience within a tax or finance function.
  • Strong knowledge of EMEA VAT and corporate tax frameworks, including multi-jurisdictional compliance.
  • Experience preparing or reviewing US GAAP tax provisions and deferred tax positions.
  • Proven background in tax audit management, controversy resolution, and regulatory engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies and lead improvement or automation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and sound judgement on materiality.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across jurisdictions.
  • Experience with tax and finance systems (e.g., OneSource, Workday, Alteryx) is an advantage.
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive global benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance (varies by location)
  • Competitive retirement and pension plans
  • Employee stock ownership opportunities
  • Generous vacation and personal time off policies
  • Support for parents including family leave programmes
  • Mental health and wellbeing support initiatives
  • Employee assistance programme and global wellbeing resources
  • Training, learning, and professional development opportunities
  • Flexible benefits such as commute subsidies and workplace perks
  • Volunteering and donation matching programmes
  • Inclusive and collaborative international work environment
