Job Description
The Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM), Construction Capital is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role oversees all aspects of project delivery including budget management, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and risk management for ground-up construction and major capital improvement projects.
The Sr. PM serves as the primary leader of the project management team and works closely with field leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role plays a critical part in driving project profitability, mentoring team members, and maintaining strong client relationships.
ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Execution- Lead capital construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution strategy.
- Ensure alignment between project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Drive project performance to meet or exceed financial and operational goals.
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
- Lead and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
- Collaborate closely with Superintendents and field leadership to align office and field operations.
- Establish clear roles, expectations, and accountability across the project team.
- Foster a high-performance team culture aligned with BR values.
- Oversee project documentation in Procore or company project management systems.
- Ensure proper management and execution of:
- RFIs
- Submittals
- Change orders
- Meeting minutes
- Daily logs and reports
- Maintain accurate and complete project records throughout the lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and processes.
- Collaborate with Preconstruction and Estimating teams during early project phases.
- Review project scope, budgets, and contract documents.
- Lead constructability reviews and value engineering efforts.
- Ensure scope clarity and alignment before project execution.
- Own and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Track costs including labor, materials, subcontractors, and general conditions.
- Lead change order management and cost control processes.
- Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Partner with Finance to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition.
- Drive profitability and margin performance.
- Oversee development and maintenance of project schedules.
- Ensure coordination with field teams to maintain schedule adherence.
- Identify potential delays and implement recovery plans.
- Monitor critical path activities and project milestones.
- Work closely with Superintendents to ensure seamless project execution.
- Support field operations in resolving issues and maintaining productivity.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and alignment with plans.
- Ensure field teams have the information and resources needed to succeed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
- Lead client meetings and provide regular project updates.
- Manage expectations and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
- Support safety initiatives in coordination with Safety Managers and field teams.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability across the project.
- 10+ years experience in construction management
- Healthcare/HCAI construction experience
- Proven track record in large projects
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore)
- Ability to handle complex sequencing and cost control
- Industry Certifications: PMP, CCM preferred
- Key Competencies: Risk management, stakeholder communication, contract negotiation
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred); Master's optional for advanced roles.
