Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Health Assistant for the 2026–2027 school year to support students in grades 6–12. As the Health Assistant, you will positively represent the school and its mission to students, staff, and the broader community. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the receptionist and office team to ensure a welcoming, safe, and efficient environment that meets the needs of all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with school staff and administration
  • Serve as a liaison between teachers, administrators, parents, and community healthcare providers
  • Provide care for acute health needs, including emergencies
  • Perform delegated health procedures in alignment with student healthcare plans and School Nurse Consultant training (e.g., diabetes, asthma, severe allergies support)
  • Administer first aid in accordance with district guidelines, including treatment of head injuries, fractures, and lacerations
  • Prepare medications for students attending field trips
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation for all health room procedures, including medications and first aid
  • Support the school nurse with vision and hearing screening programs
  • Manage medication administration, including proper storage, documentation, authorizations, and required staff training
  • Maintain confidential student health records in compliance with FERPA regulations
  • Assist in managing communicable disease protocols and outbreaks
  • Support immunization tracking and compliance under the direction of the School Nurse

Front Office Support:

  • Answer phone calls and assist with attendance tracking
  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Support the receptionist and front office staff as needed
  • Assist students and families with check-in/check-out procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Certification:

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification (Colorado)
Schedule:
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • School Year: 2026 - 2027
  • School Days: 173
  • Grades 6-12

This position will be open until filled, but will not be open past: June 30, 2026
