About This Position
Job Summary:
Skips Western Outfitters is looking for a Retail Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring customer satisfaction, optimizing staff performance, and maintaining a welcoming and profitable store environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, have exceptional organizational skills, and possess a customer-first mindset while driving sales and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Employee Management & Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and assist employees such as Sales Representatives, Cashiers, and the Sales Team. Ensure team members deliver exceptional customer service, maintain store standards, and execute product promotions. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to employees. Resolve workplace conflicts and foster a positive, motivated work environment. Implement cross-training programs to enhance staff versatility and productivity. Scheduling & Workforce Planning: Develop and maintain employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours, holidays, and sales events. Monitor attendance and address tardiness, absenteeism, and underperformance. Customer Service & Sales Optimization: Actively engage with customers to resolve complaints, answer inquiries, and enhance the shopping experience. Train staff to upsell products and improve average transaction value. Monitor customer feedback to identify areas for service improvement. Merchandising & Store Layout: Oversee visual merchandising efforts to create an appealing and organized store layout. Monitor inventory displays and ensure stock is replenished as needed. Implement strategic product placement to maximize sales potential. Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and local laws. Conduct regular security checks to safeguard store assets and reduce theft or fraud. Maintain proper cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions. Marketing & Community Engagement: Collaborate with marketing teams to execute store-level promotions and advertising campaigns. Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to promote the store within the community. Technology & Process Improvement: Utilize retail management software and point-of-sale systems for efficient operations. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline store functions and enhance customer experience. Crisis Management & Problem-Solving: Address unexpected challenges such as staff shortages, supply chain disruptions, or equipment malfunctions promptly and effectively. Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency situations, including weather-related closures or system outages.
Requirements: Proven experience in retail management or a leadership role. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to manage and motivate a diverse team. Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities. Proficiency in inventory management and point-of-sale systems. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing business needs. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and peak retail hours.
