In this role, you will become a key advisor to the legal, product, engineering, and security teams, offering strategic guidance that supports the company's mission. You'll work to ensure compliance with diverse global privacy regulations while also facilitating business operations. This position is essential for navigating complex legal frameworks and helping to protect personal information across multiple jurisdictions. Additionally, you'll be collaborating with stakeholders worldwide to mitigate risks associated with privacy and data governance.Accountabilities
  • Drive and lead compliance strategies for global privacy programs, adhering to international data privacy rules and regulations.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to enhance program governance, policies, and privacy risk management.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to deliver practical legal advice and contribute to privacy by design initiatives.
  • Counsel on privacy laws and regulatory guidance to product teams and business personnel.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to ensure legal requirements are integrated into product development and operations.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to leadership regarding the privacy program and governance issues.
  • Advise on a variety of privacy and cybersecurity matters, including international data transfers.
  • Engage with government relations to interpret regulatory changes and develop engagement strategies.
  • Update consumer privacy disclosures and internal policies as needed.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with admission to practice in Ireland or another EU jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 10 years of privacy experience, preferably in-house in a tech or marketplace environment.
  • Deep expertise in global privacy laws, especially GDPR and adjacent regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in online safety, consumer protection, and technology regulations is beneficial.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal matters clearly.
  • Proven ability to partner successfully with various business leaders on legal compliance.
  • Experience advising on privacy clauses in commercial agreements.
  • Ability to conduct privacy impact assessments and ensure compliance with GDPR requirements.
  • Knowledge of working with government relations teams on legislative strategy.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking, with a collaborative mindset.
