TITLE: Child & Family Specialist
FLSA: Non-Exempt
HYBRID REMOTE: Work in the field, office (SPA 4 & 6), and from home, meeting clients in-person/in-office and telehealth

LOCATION: The Wrap team supports clients in both SPA 4 and SPA 6, with offices on 1200 Wilshire Blvd (Los Angeles) and 3680 E Imperial Highway (Lynwood)

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CHILD AND FAMILY SPECIALIST?

  • You have experience working with children and families from high-needs, diverse communities, and you apply cultural responsiveness in daily interactions and service delivery.
  • You communicate clearly and respectfully while advocating for families and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • You are proactive and manage your time effectively while balancing in-home services, documentation, transportation of clients, and crisis response when plans disrupt.
  • You maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, demonstrating integrity and sound judgment when handling client records, sensitive information, and crisis situations.
  • You enjoy a team-based environment and are comfortable using computers and electronic systems to document services, track plans of care, and coordinate with partners.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
As the Child and Family Specialist, you will directly support children and families as identified in their individualized treatment plan and collaborate as a member of a child and family team with a Therapist, Facilitator, Parent Partner and Wraparound leadership. You'll be out in the community in both SPA 4 and 6 meeting with children and their families in their home/out-of-home placements and their respective communities.

  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of individualized child and family plans of care.
  • Deliver hands-on, in-home and community-based services that support daily living, including parenting support, behavior management, education support, and home management.
  • Advocate for children and families while promoting family-centered practices and shared decision-making.
  • Respond to crises and plan disruptions by providing onsite crisis support and consultation to families and partnering providers.
  • Transport clients to approved appointments, services, and activities to ensure continuity of care and access to resources.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance, demonstrate cultural responsiveness, and participate in required trainings, meetings, and in-service sessions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education /Background:

  • BA/BS Degree in social services or related field highly preferred, but equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered to meet qualifications for this position.
  • 1-3 years of experience working directly with seriously disturbed children, adolescents, and families.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking required to support our Spanish-speaking clients.
  • Active CA Drivers license and auto insurance in order to meet clients and partners in the community and provide transportation to clients for linkage services and outings as needed.

  • Experience working with multiethnic/racial clients and communities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team atmosphere.
  • Proficiency at computer required.
