About this Role: The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for specialized human resources tasks that arise at the discretion of the Director of Human Resources. The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for routine communications via phone and email to vendors and employees and will perform confidential and wage - related administrative duties related to the operations of the human resources office. This role requires infrequent travel, usually only to run errands locally as a back up to the Office Administrator as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Download, craft, prepare, and distribute confidential human resources reports as needed
  • In conjunction with the Human Resources Director, create and then process required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters
  • Direct and complete all employment and wage verifications alongside departmental required paperwork response
  • Assist with recruiting and on-boarding process tasks and/or back up the Office administration in the performance of their onboarding and HR lifecycle management duties (see Office Administrator job description)
  • Maintain, audit and support company’s Human Resource Information System including recommending and implementing improvements, implementing new modules, rolling out trainings, and putting audit processes into place for growth
  • Assist with confidential employee relations projects as needed to support the department Director
  • Function as payroll backup as needed for payroll and accounting purposes as needed
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers
  • Conduct or assist with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews as needed
  • Assist Human Resources Director with compliance and regulatory reports and needs as necessary
  • Promote and exemplify the Core Values of Signal Service, Inc.
  • Any other duties as supervisor, and/or the President and CEO may require

Position Qualifications

Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct face-to-face meetings with employees, vendors, and consultants is required
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office Suite & Adobe, required
  • Prior experience with Paylocity, or another Human Capital Management System required
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English, non-negotiable
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions accurately and completely as needed
  • Communication and teamwork skills with a positive demeanor is required
  • Must be willing to learn new technologies and be self-motivated to increase knowledge
  • Abilit to maintain confidential information and act with sensitivity and professionalism at all times is required
  • Ability to type at least 60 wpm or more is ideal
  • Strong work ethics are necessary
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record and be willing to furnish proof of private insurance at any time upon company request

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years’ prior human resources experience and/or certification required
  • Prior payroll experience and/or certification highly preferred
  • 5+ years’ administrative support experience at the executive level with similar duties and scope, required
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working at a computer
