Planning and Reporting Clerk – Finance (Full Time Permanent)

The Role and OpportunityThe Canadian Mental Health Association – Toronto is seeking a Planning and Reporting Clerk to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities.


The Planning and Reporting Clerk will be responsible for collecting and validating financial data, preparing financial and performance reports, maintaining finance-related records and tools, and supporting financial monitoring processes to ensure accurate tracking of budgets, resources, and organizational performance.

Hiring Salary Range: $63,879 – $69,994

Hours of Work: 35 per week

Key Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and maintain financial planning, budgeting, and performance data to support organizational and program-level decision-making in a non-profit environmentPrepare regular and ad hoc financial and operational reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for internal management and funder reportingSupport annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning processesMaintain and update financial databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standardsDevelop and maintain reporting templates, schedules, and tracking tools to support program, grant, and funder reporting requirementsCoordinate and consolidate financial information from programs and departments, working collaboratively with managers to clarify variances and reporting requirementsSupport planning and leadership meetings by preparing notes, summaries, and presentation materialsMonitor planning and reporting timelines, proactively following up on outstanding submissions Ensure financial and performance reports are complete, accurate, and submitted in accordance with internal policies, and reporting deadlinesOrganize and maintain financial planning and reporting documentation in line with record retention, audit, and compliance requirementsHandle sensitive financial, program, and funding information with professionalism and in accordance with confidentiality and privacy standardsExperience & Education Required CMHA Toronto’s ideal candidate will have:

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), or working towardsMinimum of four (4) years financial experienceExperience working in the not-for-profit sector is preferable with a strong interest in health care or related field.Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.Sound knowledge in fund accounting principles and Ministry of Health reporting requirements considered an assetAdvanced Excel skills with working knowledge of ERP, P2P, payroll and other databases/systemsDemonstrated strengths in organization, problem solving, and analytical thinking, with strong communication and collaboration skills enabling effective independent and cross-functional workWhy Choose CMHA Toronto?
