Assist tennis professional in management of all facilities and activities related to tennis operations.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides group and individual tennis lessons as assigned by Head Tennis Professional.
- Assists with special tennis events.
- Records court reservations and lesson appointments.
- Supervises other tennis staff including tennis shop salesperson.
- Assists Head Tennis Professional as requested.
- Manages tennis shop in tennis professional’s absence.
- Helps keep tennis facility clean and in proper order.
- Manages inventory of tennis shop; interacts with purchase personnel to purchase merchandise.
- Purchases trophies for special events.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Completes other appropriate tasks assigned by the Director of Tennis or Head Tennis Professional.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must participate in new equipment orientation from the manufacturer’s representative when the equipment is delivered.
- Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid Alabama driver’s license.
- Nurtures a safe and healthy work environment. Must know how to handle hazardous chemicals.
- Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
OTHER:
- Maintains a current rating with the professional organization USPTA.
- Must be organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must maintain MSDS sheets, must conduct regular safety meetings with staff, have certification in the American Red Cross lifesaving as well as how to operate an AED or automated external defibrillator.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime if necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Requires long periods of time standing, walking stairs, frequent bending, crouching, kneeling and reaching.
