Position Summary:

The Clinical Nurse Lead, RN provides frontline clinical leadership across designated AllCare primary care clinics, advancing consistent, high-quality, patient-centered care through staff development, workflow standardization, and operational excellence. This role serves as a key clinical resource for nursing and medical assistant teams, supporting policy implementation, competency development, clinical coordination, and practice readiness. This position requires a current Georgia RN license and offers an opportunity for continued leadership growth within the organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and decision support for nursing and medical assistant workflows across assigned AllCare clinic locations.
  • Serve as a primary resource for clinic clinical policies, workflow questions, competency expectations, and practice standards; resolve issues within scope or route to the appropriate owner.
  • Train, coach, and support medical assistants and clinical staff in rooming workflows, vital signs, specimen collection, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, documentation expectations, and standard work.
  • Lead onboarding support, annual competencies, skills validation, remediation, and refresher training for clinical staff.
  • Maintain and advance clinical policies, procedures, standing workflows, skill checklists, and training tools to align with AllCare standards and applicable regulations.
  • Partner closely with providers, the Medical Director, operations leadership, and future quality leadership to align clinical and operational priorities.
  • Provide provider support and clinical coordination through inbox management, timely triage and routing of clinical messages and test results, receipt and escalation of critical lab results, support for medication and referral prior authorizations, coordination of complex patient cases, and follow-up on Labcorp eClaims, claim exceptions, and related workflow issues in partnership with billing, operations, and laboratory contacts.
  • Lead clinic-level communication and coordination, including participating as needed in team huddles, updates, reinforcement of standard work, and adoption of policy and workflow changes.
  • Promote quality, patient safety, infection prevention, emergency readiness, and regulatory compliance across the practice.
  • Provide clinical support of vaccine inventory, storage, handling, and temperature log compliance in accordance with clinic policy and manufacturer guidance, including monitoring investigating, documenting and resolving any temperature excursions
  • Support oversight of point-of-care and CLIA-waived testing processes, including quality control, documentation, staff training, and escalation of renewal or lapse concerns through appropriate leadership channels.
  • Coordinate specimen handling and operational follow-through with Labcorp and other external laboratory partners.
  • Support lab result tracking, follow-up workflows, and care gap closure activities to promote timely completion of ordered testing and preventive care.
  • Audit standing orders, room readiness, clinical supplies, infection control practices, and skill checklists to support consistent clinical practice.
  • Monitor emergency equipment, medications, and response supplies as applicable to the practice setting.
  • Support clinic compliance and safety monitoring, including exposure incident follow-up, sharps and biohazard practices, expired medication and supply checks, and corrective action follow-through related to audit findings.
  • Monitor abnormal result follow-up, specimen rejection trends, and delegated clinical task competency to support patient safety, regulatory readiness, and workflow reliability.
  • Provide dotted-line clinical support to Medical Assistant Specialists related to training, competency, and workflow consistency.
  • Identify quality, safety, or compliance risks and escalate promptly through the appropriate leadership channels.
  • Use audits, quality indicators, staff feedback, and workflow observations to support clinic-level improvements and share best practices.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned in support of clinical operations and quality initiatives.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted RN license with authorization to practice in the State of Georgia.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, ambulatory care, or a comparable outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or support clinical staff, influence change, and support consistent clinical practice in a team-based environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to address workflow questions, support training needs, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Experience with phlebotomy, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and outpatient clinical workflow support.
  • Comfortable working with EHR systems, quality workflows, and clinic documentation standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a clinical lead, charge nurse, preceptor, or supervisory role.
  • Experience partnering with operations leaders or practice leaders in a multi-site or growing clinic environment.
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives, competency programs, or clinical workflow standardization.
  • Experience with vaccine programs, laboratory coordination, result follow-up workflows, or ambulatory quality measures.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program and current, unrestricted RN license in Georgia required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in primary care, ambulatory care, family medicine, internal medicine, or a comparable outpatient setting is required. Prior lead, preceptor, or clinic-based training experience is strongly preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not carry formal direct supervisory authority for providers or clinic staff unless otherwise designated by leadership. The Clinical Nurse Lead, RN provides day-to-day clinical leadership, training, workflow support, and dotted-line guidance for Medical Assistant Specialists and other clinical support staff within scope.

Travel Requirements:

Limited local travel between AllCare Georgia Clinics may be required based on staffing, training, implementation, or operational needs.

Reporting Structure:

This role currently reports to the Medical Director and is expected in the future state to report to the Director of Quality and Case Management. Medical Assistant Specialists may have dotted-line reporting to this role for clinical training, competency, and practice support. The Clinical Nurse Lead, RN is expected to escalate operational, quality, safety, and compliance concerns through the appropriate leadership channels, including issues involving CLIA-waived testing processes or CLIA certificate renewal or lapse risks, in accordance with AllCare policy and applicable regulatory requirements.

Scope and Compliance:

The Clinical Nurse Lead, RN must perform responsibilities consistent with RN licensure, training, competency, and delegated authority. This role supports clinical quality, staff development, supervision, and regulatory readiness and is not intended to expand practice beyond applicable Georgia RN standards of practice or organizational policy.
