Job Description
This sponsored trainee position performs tasks and training as required by the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office and attends a Level 1 Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Board Certification Academy. Upon successful completion of the Academy and obtaining a Level 1 P.O.S.T. Certification, this position transitions from Deputy Sheriff Trainee to a full-time sworn Deputy Sheriff in the Patrol Division of the Sheriff’s Office. * Pursuant to an agreement to be executed by the applicant following the successful completion of the background process and prior to hire, the Sheriff’s Office shall advance the cost of the applicant’s Academy training and P.O.S.T. certification process, the balance of which shall be forgiven by the Sheriff’s Office on a bi-weekly, pro rata basis over the course of two calendar years. The agreement shall require that should the applicant leave employment prior to the balance being fully forgiven, the pro rata remaining balance shall be deducted from the applicant’s final paycheck. A copy of the template agreement shall be provided upon request. |

- Formal education, often achieved through completion of a bachelor’s or associate degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or a related field, is advantageous.
- Prior experience in security, military, or law enforcement support roles.
- Completion of some criminal justice coursework or related training.
