Summary
The employee in this position is responsible for sorting, processing, and delivering mail within a professional office location. This person will become knowledgeable of all mail processing and software on site, properly utilizing this equipment to its fullest potential.
Responsibilities
- Receive and logs accountable incoming mail/overnights daily
- Sorts incoming mail.
- Perform mail delivery tasks.
- Prepare outgoing mail for USPS/FedEx/UPS, etc. & courier pickup.
- Process outgoing mail according to Postal requirements.
- Sort Company mail, specific bulletins, and correspondence
- Monitor and listens to clients to understand inquiries and requests and provides accurate and prompt assistance.
- Receive, logs, and deliver FedEx, UPS, and USPS packages in a timely manner.
- Ensure prompt and proper information exchange with clients.
- Strive to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Monitor workflow methods and priorities.
- Provide immediate attention to clients contacting or entering the work area.
- Learn from, teach, and assist fellow team members with other duties as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of the mail room environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of postal and printing equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with USPS general guidelines preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills required
- Ability to be personable, articulate, knowledgeable and professional.
- Ability to learn skills quickly and thoroughly. • Ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to function with a high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy in handling any complaints/situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
- Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions.
- Strong initiative with an ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

- Fine and/or gross motor skills, including the ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 100lbs daily
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period
- Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, copy machines, binding equipment, etc.) or mail processing equipment
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects
- The ability to lift approximately 50lbs. daily
