IT Intern – Access Control
Job Description:
The IT Intern supports the Information Technology department by assisting with business analysis, documentation, and project coordination. This role provides exposure to IT systems, business processes, and enterprise applications. Interns will gain hands-on experience in requirements gathering, testing, reporting, and supporting IT initiatives while learning industry best practices.
Flexible work schedule around school schedule – M-F Days 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Work approximately 20 hours a week
- Assist IT staff with requirements gathering and documentation.
- Support application testing and issue identification.
- Help prepare presentations, reports, and training materials.
- Shadow IT professionals to learn business analysis, project management practice and IT operations.
- Provide general support for IT projects and departmental initiatives.
- Assist with provisioning student accounts for clinical orientations by processing access credentials for students attending Powers Health clinical orientations, ensuring timely setup and compliance with access policies.
- Support provisioning of contingent worker accounts by processing access requests for business contingent workers (BCWs) by processing access requests to Powers Health resources under established Identity and Access Management procedures.
- Create, update and maintain IAM documentation, consolidating existing and new materials into a centralized repository. Create, update, and organize documentation related to IAM procedures and processes. Consolidate existing materials with newly developed documentation into a centralized repository for easy reference.
- Develop and maintain BCW contact directory, ensuring at least two points of contact are documented and accessible for Access Control team use, audits and inquiries.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Basic understanding of IT systems, databases, or business processes.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Interest in IT, business analysis, or project management.
- Interest in Healthcare IT.
