About This Position

Description:

Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR functions for a designated business unit, with a strong focus on employee relations, operational support, and alignment with business objectives. This role partners closely with the Business Unit Leader and/or Operations Manager to drive a positive employee experience, ensure compliance, and support organizational performance. This role will report directly to the Director, HRBP.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers within the assigned business unit
  • Provide guidance and resolution on employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies

Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic partner to the Business Unit Leader and/or Operations Manager
  • Align HR practices with business goals and operational needs
  • Provide coaching to leaders on people management, team development, and organizational effectiveness
  • Support workforce planning and organizational design

HR Operations

  • Partner with HR Ops Specialist on day-to-day HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, performance reviews, and policy administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Partner with HR shared services (if applicable) on payroll, benefits, and recruiting processes

Performance & Talent Management

  • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and corrective actions
  • Identify talent gaps and partner on development plans
  • Assist in succession planning and leadership development initiatives

Policy & Compliance

  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Conduct investigations as needed and ensure proper documentation
  • Stay current on employment law and HR best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with strong employee relations background
  • Experience supporting a specific business unit, site, or operational team preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with leaders and employees at all levels
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
