Reports to: Clinical Director Programs
Status: Full-time
Work Schedule: M-F, 2:00pm-10:00PM

Salary: $50,000 per year

Job summary
The Residential Manager is responsible for developing a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, and guests of My Mother's House (MMH), one of Hour Children's transitional residence. MMH is a residence that supports up to 12 women and/or families in the reentry process. The Residential Manager will focus on creating an environment that centers on community building and supports the continued development of independent living skills. This is a full-time position that can include holidays and/or weekends based on client need.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a role model-guiding and empowering residents and facilitating appropriate behavior around daily living skills, self-care, personal interaction, social relationships and constructive time management.
  • Sustaining a nurturing and healthy household for all residents and staff alike.
  • Monitoring residents' adherence to program policies and procedures, including curfew compliance and chores.
  • Conducting bi-weekly to monthly room inspections.
  • Collaborating with Mental Health Services staff to discuss resident progress and needs.
  • Facilitating weekly house meetings and scheduled recreational activities.
  • Providing mediation and conflict resolution to address any interpersonal conflict and/or safety concerns, as appropriate.
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Maintenance to address all maintenance matters, including writing up service requests for routine and low maintenance repairs, and managing inventory of toiletries, cleaning supplies, and food.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Mental Health Services manage emergencies including contacting appropriate staff; interacting with police, fire and medical personnel as needed.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate and complete progress notes, log entries, reports, and other required documents such as incident reports.
  • Attend staff meetings and other agency events, as necessary.

Specifications for Physical Requirements (as applicable):

  • Ability to engage in moderate physical labor (assisting with setting up and breaking down bedrooms for intakes and discharges).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a residential setting serving vulnerable populations with significant trauma histories
  • 2-4 years' experience providing services to formerly incarcerated women, women with substance use and/or mental health histories, mothers, and/or older women/seniors
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate small group process
  • HS/GED Required
    • Associate's Degree in Social Work or Human Services related field preferred
  • Lived experience highly preferred (may be combined with work experience to replace education experience)
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required
  • Trainings and Certifications preferred:
    • CPR/First Aid
    • Certified Opioid Overdose Responder (Naloxone)
    • Conflict Resolution/Mediation
    • Trauma and Recovery
    • Parenting Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required
