Job Summary
Responsible for the overall supervision of the laboratory phlebotomy team, including inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy services. Administers and coordinates programs to support daily operations in the clinical laboratory with estabilised policies and procedures in accordance with safety and health programs. Collaborates with the Laboratory Leadership Team, Hospital Leadership and other key stakeholders to uphold all CAP and other regulatory and accreditation standards. Works on key initiatives for growth.
Core Duties:
· Phlebotomy services are organized in a manner to meet the needs of the customers of the laboratory.
· Registration services are provided by the phlebotomy team in a manner to meet the needs of the customers of the laboratory.
· Reference lab services are supervised in a manner that is efficient and meets the needs of the laboratory.
· Oversees patient services and clinical staff, including hiring, training, and completing annual evaluations.
· Manages clinical lab/phlebotomy protocols, policies, and develops clinical quality assurance standards for process improvement to ensure patient satisfaction and quality of patient care.
· Develops quality assurance projects to identify and correct customer service or delivery gaps and communicates outcomes to appropriate team members and leaders.
· Manages time and attendance for phlebotomy staff including scheduling.
· Manages inventory and maintains adequate supplies for phlebotomy services.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Current ASCP MLT or MLS certification.
· One-year healthcare clinical or operational supervisory experience
Required Certifications, Licensure:
· Current ASCP MLT or MLS certification
· Current BLS from American Heart Association; or obtain within first 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications/Additional Skills:
· Minimum of one year in a phlebotomist role preferred.
· Three or more years in healthcare clinical or operational experience
· Strong commitment to the delivery of customer-focused quality care
· Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills to implement workload of the phlebotomy team.
· Strong coaching and communication skills to assist staff in meeting and exceeding standards of care and to facilitate a dynamic and positive team spirit.
