About the Role:

The 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday 2:00pm-12:00am, Powder Painter plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by applying high-quality powder coatings to various metal components and products during the evening shift. This position ensures that all items meet strict quality standards for appearance, durability, and finish, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and product longevity. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to prepare surfaces, operate powder coating equipment, and inspect finished products for defects. Working primarily on the second shift, the Powder Painter collaborates with team members to maintain a smooth workflow and meet production deadlines. Ultimately, this position supports the company’s commitment to delivering superior coated products through consistent and efficient powder painting techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate spray equipment safely.
  • Willingness to work the 2nd shift schedule consistently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or training in powder coating techniques.
  • Experience with quality control processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with safety standards related to powder coating and industrial painting.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or technical specifications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper powder coating adhesion.
  • Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns and curing ovens, following safety and quality protocols.
  • Monitor coating thickness and finish quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for defects such as uneven coating, runs, or contamination and perform touch-ups when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve any operational issues.
  • Document production data and quality checks accurately for reporting and continuous improvement purposes.
