About the Role:
The Feed Truck Driver (Synergy) plays a critical role in the agricultural supply chain by ensuring the timely and safe delivery of feed to livestock operations across the trade area. This position requires operating specialized feed trucks to transport bulk feed materials, maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The driver will coordinate closely with farm managers and mill personnel to optimize delivery schedules and inventory management. Attention to vehicle maintenance and compliance with transportation regulations is essential to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role supports the health and productivity of livestock by guaranteeing consistent and reliable feed supply.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A CDL).
- Proven experience driving commercial trucks, preferably in agricultural or bulk feed delivery.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle safety protocols and transportation regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading feed and conducting vehicle inspections.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating specialized feed delivery equipment or bulk feed trucks.
- Familiarity with agricultural operations and livestock feeding requirements.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor truck maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with GPS and route planning software to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with farm staff and logistics teams.
Responsibilities:
- Operate feed trucks to deliver bulk feed to farms and agricultural facilities safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload feed materials, ensuring accuracy and proper handling to prevent contamination or spoilage.
- Maintain detailed delivery logs, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintenance teams.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including hours of service and weight limits.
- Communicate effectively with farm personnel to confirm delivery requirements and resolve any issues.
- Assist with inventory management by reporting feed usage and stock levels to supervisors.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation of the feed truck to maintain feed quality standards.
