About This Position

Job Title: Concierge

PRN: Third Shift

Must be able to work weekends

Position Scope: The Concierge is responsible for greeting visitors, arranging property tours, answering a multi-line telephone, and providing clerical support to the administrative staff. This position is the Community's first impression.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the mission, core values and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
  • Completes all hours of state-mandated continuing education each year.
  • Promotes and displays a spirit of teamwork in performing daily duties through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Supports a positive, professional image through actions and attire.
  • Promotes the property in a positive manner and effectively communicates the organization’s values to residents, visitors, co-workers, and the community.
  • Greet visitors seeking information about the property.
  • Be responsive to the needs of people who inquire about the property and/or who are in the building for meetings with administrative personnel.
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate office or resident apartment.
  • Responsible for assisting residents, family members, and guests with general requests. Responsible for arranging tours of the property for individuals making spontaneous visits or those who have made an appointment for the tour.
  • Answers telephones, records, and channels information.
  • Displays knowledge of the services, programs, and other pertinent information regarding the property.
  • Responsible for the mail meter, stamps, making copies, and other tasks related to office operations.
  • Administers required medical screening.
  • Processing incoming mail. Sort property mail and distribute mail to mailboxes.
  • Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly fashion. Ensure the reception desk and lobby display current property literature.
  • Ensure that the lobby is free of excessive or outdated literature. Ensure that coffee and/or refreshments are fresh and readily available.
  • Performs clerical duties for property staff as directed by the supervisor.
  • Provides support to the Community’s marketing efforts through positive/friendly interaction during property tours and telephone contact with the public, and as directed by a supervisor. Communicates any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor immediately.
  • Maintains a safe work environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards. Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years of concierge/ front desk experience in a senior living, hospitality, or office setting.
  • Able to read, write, and understand the English language, and be able to follow written or oral instructions.
  • Able to make independent decisions when the circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergencies.
  • Able to deal professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
  • Knowledge of administrative practices, processes, and guidelines.
  • Experience using computer software (Microsoft).
  • Have patience, professionalism, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors based on their current maturity level.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Walk/Stand/Sitting – must be able to continuously perform duties that incorporate walking, standing, or sitting.
  • Environment Condition – must be able to perform work both inside and outside.
  • Lift - constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
  • Carry - constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
  • Push - constantly 0 – 10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds, occasionally 51 – 100 pounds.
  • Climb – must be able to climb stairs frequently, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
